Check out Park City, a mountain town with three major ski resorts that keep on rocking in the summer months. Highlights include ziplining, mountain biking, hiking, hot-air balloon rides and summer concert series. For something a little more luxe, check out Sundance, about an hour south of SLC. Robert Redford's brainchild, Sundance has a full slate of outdoor adventures (including mountain biking, horseback riding, and fly-fishing) and environmental programs, not to mention a full-service spa.

There is also a Museum of Ancient Life in Lehi, at Thanksgiving Point. It has the distinction of being the world's largest display of mounted dinosaurs. A nice touch is sounds of chirps of insects and growls of ancient creatures greet you in each hall. Exhibits like the Erosion Table and the Fossil Dig give you an opportunity be a part of the science of paleontology. Needless to say, this is not an ordinary museum.
