While all-inclusive vacations often cost more, there are tons of benefits! Everything is already paid for when you arrive, you don't have to worry about going over budget while you're on vacation and you can just sit back and relax without stressing about tipping or other costs while on vacation.

We have been vacationing in St. Thomas for the last several years. We usually go for a week. We have been staying at Best Western Emerald Beach Resort. This resort is halfway between the airport and Charlotte Amalie. It's about a 5 to 10 minute taxi ride from the resort to Charlotte Amalie. The resort offers a shuttle to Charlotte Amalie every morning for a reduced rate, but the taxis are, in our opinion, also reasonable. Emerald Beach has an absolutely beautiful beach, large rooms, each room with a lovely view and balcony, good restaurant, fun beach bar, fresh water pool with waterfall, MORE than friendly staff, and reasonable rates. Many of the staff have been there for years, which says something about the quality of the resort, in my opinion. It's to the point where we now get hugs from some of the staff when we arrive. And so close to other lovely beaches, restaurants, shopping, etc. Enjoy your stay on this lovely island, wherever you decide to stay.

You should contact the hotels and resorts listed on this page directly, not least because you're traveling in such a big group. The Wyndham and Westin both come highly recommended; you can read more about each here: http://away.com/family-resorts/wyndham-sugar-bay-st-thomas-virgin-islands.html. (Incidentally, St. Thomas is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands, not the Bahamas.)
