  September is actually not that bad. The locals told me that end of October through November are when the really heavy rains come. September is nice because you can catch the end of turtle-watching season, and the hotel prices are lower than the high-season spring and summer rates. I've been in January and March, and based on all I know now, I would book my next trip for September. Besides, when it rains there, it usually passes pretty quickly.
