Orlando Travel Tips
- Plan everything, especially meals. Having a master plan of what you really want to see will save you a lot of time wasting. Restaurants at Disney World can book up solid, so make reservations (you can reserve months in advance, which is recommended!). Better yet, get a hotel room or condo with a kitchen.
- Use the Fastpass system. Disney World offers Fastpass machines that allow you to use your park tickets to make appointments for the most popular rides rather than having to wait in long, long lines. You're only allowed to make one reservation at a time, so get to the major rides early.
- Take side trips. Tampa and beachy St. Petersburg are about an hour and a half west of Orlando and offer a nice break from the inland heat. Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center are less than an hour's drive to the east.
- Encounter sharks and penguins at SeaWorld.
- Swim with dolphins at Discovery Cove.

Transportation from Orlando airport to Port Canaveral hotel?Answer this3 AnswersKatrin answered:There are so many companies that provide transportation to Port Canaveral. If you would like to arrange your transfer ahead of time, i would recommend Star Trans company - http://www.orlandotransportationshuttle.com I don't know how many people are in your family, but the price for a group up to 4 people will be around $100. Very often they have great deals online. The second option is Mears. They have a stand inside the airport. You will have to wait for 30-40 min, but no need to book in advance. -
Pat answered:To the last answer, I would add that the 2-3 weeks following the Thanksgiving week will give you a chance to see the Christmas decorations without all the crowds. I find that those are some of the best weeks of the year to see the parks - with the caveat that the temps can vary pretty dramatically from the 40's to the 80's.
