In Nassau - Walk west along the water towards Senor Frogs. Then follow the road around The British Colonial Hotel. After you have gone around the whole hotel, keep walking to the first traffic light. Look right , there's the beach.

We visited Nassau in the Bahamas for the first time this May 2008 for our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Quality Inn in front of Junkanoo Beach. We loved it there! We were on the 6th floor facing the ocean. The service was great. The beach was wonderful. We got to watch the big cruise ships arriving to and leaving from Paradise Island from our room. It was walking distance to great restaurants (like Chez Willie, the Fish Fry, Ichibon, and Conch Fritters) and great cultural experiences (like the local zoo, the Straw Market, the ferry to Paradise Island, and Junkanoo Beach local beach parties). We took the ferry to Paradise Island and walked all around there. We took the tour of the wonderful aquarium at Atlantis and saw amazing fish. Sonya at the front desk of the Quality Inn became our friend. She arranged for us to be picked up at the hotel by Stuart's Cove for an unforgettable snorkeling experience. We were in the water enjoying (close- up) the same type of fish that we had looked at in the aquarium. We recommend that you do it all. What we loved the most is the beautiful blue water and white sand. It was great how our location gave us a very Bahamian experience, not such a touristy one and that we were so close to everything. We took amazing walks along the beach every night. Also we visited Zion Baptist Church and it was a great experience, some of the best preaching you could imagine and a loving community. Check it out!

You can rent boats in Nassau at the British Colonial Hotel by the beach next to Senor Frogs. Not a very well known business, but I rented there once. I did lose my security deposit, but I deserved it. (High tide, low tide, who knew) You might also try Captain Viking Tours on Facebook. Captain Andy takes you out on his boat to Rose Island or wherever else you want to go. Very affordable. Ask him to take you to Sandy Toes on Rose Island.
