Anonymous user asked:my husband is leaving for iraq 2.7.2010 we will be in gulfport &biloxie ocean...Answer this1 AnswerAnonymous user answered:You can try hikes and exploring the Gulf Islands National Seashore. My brother and I drove through there last spring and it's pretty interesting. You can still sees the scars Hurricane Katrina along the shores. Gulfport isn't super exciting, but the drive along the Gulf is beautiful (the beach can be too windy for for sunbathing, though). There are a lot of fan-boat tours of the bayou between GP and NO, not sure on the cost. In Nawlins, there's an endless amount of walking you can do through the French Quarter, Magazine Street, Jackson Square, French Market, etc. You can ride the old-timey street cars or check out jazz in the French Market Gazebo as well. Good luck and godspeed to you and your husband.
