However, the former backpacker in me says you should be fine, just exercise the usual common-sense and keep a low profile. Lahore is a big, vibrant city and there hasn't been a spate of targeted attacks or kidnappings of foreigners (although there have been suicide bombings there in the past year). But all that said, there is a heightened sense of social and political unrest in Pakistan right now, so maybe best to hold off if your trip isn't essential.
