Loraine asked:I would like to visit Jamaica this coming summer, what is the bestAnswer this2 AnswersMrsJBolt answered:Hi Loraine, I just did a trip to Jamaica at the end of June! Summer is a great time to go because everything is so much cheaper, but I'll warn you that the humidity and heat is definitely apparent, but you'll survive with a Red Stripe, some a/c, and a dip in the water! I'd recommend staying on the North Coast side, look at Ocho Rios (which has the most attractions in one area) or Montego Bay which has everything you could think of from golf to water activities to night clubs. I'd personally avoid Kingston. There are a ton of large resorts like Sandals & Half-Moon, but if you want a unique experience, do some research and stay at one of the smaller hotels and villas like Jamaica Inn or Round Hill Hotel. You'll feel like a celebrity rather than a number at one of these places. Things to do... visit the Rose Hall Great House if you like ghost stories, climb Dunn River Falls with a guide, maybe go bamboo rafting on the Martha Brae River, visit Glistening Waters at night, and definitely go on a catamaran cruise! Island Routes is a good tour group to book with. Oh and if you want to splurge, do a spa treatment somewhere. Jamaican Inn has a massage hut right over the water... amazing. As for things to eat... must try a Jamaican patty... when you fly in Tastee Patties has a location right at the airport. Beef is the traditional kind. Also when in Jamaica you must try jerk chicken, jerk pork, and jerk fish. I liked the jerk barbecue chicken the best from Chill Out Hut near Montego Bay. Take your sunscreen and have fun!!
