Alistair answered:My dad used to live on Grand Bahama opposite the Port Lucaya village and marketplace area. Plenty going on there, though some of it's a bit touristy. Plenty of bars and restaurants, which range from local seafood to Italian to pub fare. Bahama Mama's is pretty fun, as is Shenanigans. There are some more listings at this link: http://www.portlucayamarketplace.com/lucaya/food_drink.php. My favorite place, though, was the Sand Bar, a locals' hangout up the Grand Bahama Highway toward Pelican Point. Think beach bar, beach volleyball, conch fritters, and ice-cold beers. Worth the cab fare if you don't want to drive!
