Try looking at apartments through www.homeaway.com. They offer amazing apartments or homes with a number of bedrooms for very good prices. Also, the homes are often fully furnished so you can do your laundry or cook meals; a great way to save money.

There are a number of things to do in the Lake District. I recommend visiting Grizedale Forest in Hawkshead. You can hike and mountain bike there, as well as an outdoor "art museum." Visit www.homeaway.com for details on accommodations. You can often find deals better than your standard hotel.

Hi Martin ~ What a great idea for a retirement gift to an employee! The gift of travel! Some questions you may want to consider; Has the person traveled to Europe before? If so, to where? Do they have a valid passport; or is that part of the gift as well? A 7-10 day land trip would be perfect! Combining two classic cities of Europe such as London/Paris, Prague/Budapest, Istanbul/Cappadocia, Rome/Florence would work well. Or a 7 night city stay would be just as fun in Barcelona, Istanbul, Amalfi Coast or Dubrovnik. There are many options depending on when you will presenting the gift and when they can travel. Hope this helps ~ Any way you look at it; it's a fantastic opportunity and a gift anyone would welcome!
