Anonymous user asked:Can you kayak to the island from the mainland?Answer this1 AnswerAnonymous user answered:Absolutely, though just be sure to check on weather and tides for your trip. Best thing to do is check in with the rangers at the St. Marys Visitor Center before putting in, so they can get you a map and show the best places to dock on the south end of the island. If you're planning on camping there overnight, you'll need to make a reservation and get a permit from the same visitor's center. And lastly, don't forget to pack bug spray, water, and whatever you need for lunch!
