  Cinque Terre is an amazing place to visit and the children would have a great time; however, it is extremely crowded in July. May and October are probably the best times to visit. The Amalfi Coast might be a good alternative and has many similar activities to Cinque Terre, but will be slightly less crowded in July. If you do decide to go to Cinque Terre in July, make sure to book hotel reservations early!

  Parking is at a premium around the Cinque Terre are during the summer high season, so pack some patience! Small public parking lots are available in Monterosso and Riomaggiore, as well as near the station in Levanto. Depending on your travel plans, you may want to scrap the car and take the train instead.
