Anonymous user answered:The ride to Robben Island Museum lasts about half an hour (each way), and departs from the Victoria and Albert Waterfront, a pretty posh little shopping/dining setup. The water can be rough due to Cape Town's proximity to the southernmost tip of Africa, but when I too the tour the waters pretty calm. And I can't recommend visiting the island enough--it's one of the best ways to fully grasp the contemporary history of the country.
