Alistair answered:The best snorkeling in the area is indeed in the waters of Biscayne National Park, though the best reef and wreck snorkeling is located about an hour or so from shore. My recommendation would be to join a snorkeling charter through the park concessionaire, Biscayne Underwater (http://biscayneunderwater.com/). There's some OK snorkeling at Bill Bagg State Park off Key Biscyane, or better yet, head a bit further south to the start of the Keys and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. Guided tours and gear rentals are available here, too.
