Beacause West Palm Beach weather is so mild most of the year, it’s possible to enjoy the beaches, hundreds of miles of hiking trails, and airboat rides through the Everglades any time of year.
Between Thanksgiving and the end of Februrary, the beaches, restaurants and golf courses are swamped with snowbirds fleeing the east coast’s inclimate weather.
During the fall shoulder season, October into November, humidty has mellowed, hurricane danger has passed, and the weather is still warm. Hotel rates start to rise after Thanksgiving, so late fall is a great time to visit if you want to avoid the crowds. By the time the spring shoulder season rolls around in May and June, the fancy folks have packed up and headed to Martha’s Vineyard, so beaches are much quieter and it’s easier to get a room at the storied Breakers Hotel or reserve a table at Café Boulud.
The most unpleasant months are August and September, when it’s hot and humid, and rife with tropical storms or hurricanes.
