Contest Rules for the Starbucks Ultimate Adventure Sweepstakes

No purchase or other consideration necessary to enter. Making a purchase or entering on the website will not increase your chances of winning.

1. How to Enter: On any day, from 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) 6/24/02 through 11:59 p.m. ET 9/09/02, visit Away.com and submit your entry at [URL to be filled in by production once the page is built]. Alternatively, to enter without registering as an Away.com member, please handwrite your name and address on a 3x5 card, write on the card that you have read and agree to these Contest Rules for the Starbucks Ultimate Adventure Sweepstakes, sign the card, and mail it to:

   No mechanical entries permitted through the mail-in method. One entry per envelope. Only one entry per person by registering on the website or mailing in the 3x5 card. To receive additional entries, submit up to 25 email addresses of your friends and family, either by entering them on the website or submitting them with the 3x5 card, and for each person who enters, you will receive one additional entry. All entries, whether by website or mail, must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET on 9/09/02.
   
   Away.com assumes no responsibility for computer system, hardware, software, or program malfunctions or for other errors, failures, or delays in computer transmissions or network connections that are human or technical in nature. Sponsor reserves the right to change any contest date. Sponsor reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the Starbucks Ultimate Adventure Sweepstakes should virus, bugs, or other causes beyond Sponsor's control corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the contest.



2. Drawing and Notification: Winner will be selected from all eligible entries in a random drawing on Away.com on or about 9/20/02. Winner will be notified by e-mail or phone within 48 hours after the drawing. Winner will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability and Publicity Release within 7 days (168 hours) of prize notification, except where prohibited by law. Winner's guest will be required to sign a Liability Release. In the event of noncompliance, an alternate winner will be selected. Odds of winning are determined by the number of eligible entries received. The drawing will be conducted by Away.com.



3. Eligibility: The Starbucks Ultimate Adventure Sweepstakes is open only to United States residents, except residents of Rhode Island. All contest entrants must be 18 years of age or older to enter and to be eligible to win. Void where prohibited. Employees of Away.com, and all of their parents, affiliated and subsidiary companies and their advertising and promotional agencies and the immediate family (spouse, parent, sibling and children, regardless of where they live) or members of their same households (whether related or not) of such employees and directors are not eligible.
   
   
4. Prize:One grand prize consisting of a $2,000 travel allowance redeemable on trips listed on http://gorptravel.gorp.com and booked through the Gorp.com Call Center (1-877-440-GORP) will be awarded. Winner may take one trip (for up to two people). Travel must be completed by 10/1/03. Winner may select any trip on the web site http://gorptravel.gorp.com sold through the Gorp.om Call Center (reachable at 1-877-440-GORP) and valued at a total of $2,000 or less for winner and one companion traveling with winner. Trips sold by Gorp.com's partners that are accessible by clicking through the http://gorp.com or http://gorptravel.gorp.com sites and not sold through the Gorp.com Call Center, are excluded from this promotion. Any options, extensions or misc. additional costs, which bring the cost over $2,000 are responsibility of winner. If winner finds it necessary to cancel after reservations have been confirmed, any cancellation penalties will be deducted from the $2,000 allowance. No cash credit will be given if the trip chosen is less than $2,000 and/or if winner cannot use the prize. If trip selected does not include airfare, winner may apply the unused portion of the $2,000 allowance towards airfare booked through the Gorp.com call center. Winner is responsible for obtaining and paying for visas, shots, passports or other documents if required. Travel insurance is optional at an additional cost and recommended. Trip values are based on Gorp.com pricing at the time travel arrangements are made. Trips are subject to availability at the time of booking. Terms and conditions of the trip set forth by both the supplier and http://gorptravel.gorp.com apply. Prize is not transferable. Winner and his/her guests will be solely responsible for all other expenses not specifically set forth herein including but not limited to taxes, gratuities, souvenirs and any other incidentals.



5. General Terms & Conditions: No cash redemptions or substitutions permitted, except by Sponsor, who may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the featured prize becomes unavailable. Federal, state or local taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. By accepting prize, winner agrees to release Away.com, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and the employees, officers and directors of all such entities, from all liability with respect to acceptance, possession or use of the prize awarded and consent to the use of their name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited. All Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations apply.
   
   Sponsor reserves the right to extend the contest and/or extend the date for selecting and notifying the winner. If for any reason the contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the control of Sponsor that corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, with appropriate legal approval, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the contest and/or to select the single prize winner from among the entries received prior to the suspension or termination of the program; and Sponsors further reserve the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with or in any way corrupts the entry process.
   
   CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
