  • Telluride is small and made for exploring on foot. Should you need a lift, the free Galloping Goose bus service loops through town every 20 minutes during the day from Monday through Friday. Another way to get around is the free Telluride Gondola between town and Mountain Village.
  • You're 8,745 feet above sea level in town, and even higher in the surrounding mountains; pace yourselves. At this elevation, even climbing stairs can take your breath away. Take it easy for the first couple of days, avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of water, and prevent sunburn with a hat and sunscreen. Consider easing your way into the high altitude with a mountain spa treatment together at Peaks Resort and Spa.
