What to do in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park
In the southern Sierra, within reasonable reach of the Los Angeles megalopolis, you can still find raw, roadless wilderness. While nearby Yosemite is plagued by crowds and overdevelopment, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks remain a largely unspoiled alpine realm, with high-country lakes and mountain streams, snowfields, and scores of peaks that top 13,000 feet. I would like to know how I can ride a train or bus to Sequoia Park and walk around for only a few hours. I will be traveling from Long Beach as I break away from business in Las Vegas, during the month of August 2011. I expect to be at Long Beach from 1:00p-2:00p, when I would like to ride to Sequoia Park and see those awesome trees that I read about as a child and take photos, but I have no clue as to how to do this. Please help me accomplish this as I've been dreaming about this for some time.
Thanks, so much.
