The Cold Fork Ridge Trail leaves Rat Trap Gap campground and its junction with #10W38 (North Yolla Bolly Lake Trail) and heads uphill towards the southwest for approximately 1.25 miles to Barker Camp where there is a small meadow an stream. The trail then continues approximately 0.25 mile to the top of Cold Fork Ridge where it enters the Yolla Bolly Middle-Eel Wilderness. At this point there is a junction with trails #10W60 (North Yolla Bolly) and #9W36 (Humboldt Trail).

Directions: From Harrison Gulch, The Rat Trap Trailhead can be reached by following Highway 36 west 7 miles to the Wildwood Mad River Road (#30). Turn left (south) and travel about ten miles to Pine Root Saddle. Turn left (east) on road 29N35 and travel 11.4 miles to Stuart Gap. Continue on road 29N35 for another 4.3 miles to Rat Trap Gap at the junction with Road 45.
