This small lake lies at the end of a short, fairly easy trail. It is great for day trips and provides scenic vistas of the Carter Meadows area. Take the Pacific Crest Trail south from Carter Meadows for about a hundred yards. Don't miss the signed junction. Then take the trail to the right for about one mile to the lake. There is a short segment of rocky trail on this route. You may consider dismounting and leading through the rougher sections if you are traveling on horseback.

Directions: From Fort Jones, Follow Highway 3 south for 25 miles to the Callahan-Cecilville Road turnoff (Forest Service Hwy. 93/1C02). Continue on this paved, two-lane road for another 10 miles to Carter Meadows Summit Trailhead. From here, take the Pacific Crest Trail south for about 100 yards. Don't miss the sign at the junction directing you to the Hidden Lake Trail to the right.
