Jarman Gap Trail is a short 0.5-mile hike through a beautiful hardwood forest.

Directions: From Front Royal, VA, Skyline Drive travels the entire length of Shenandoah National Park. Mile markers are placed along the right-hand side of the road heading south. They are numbered from north to south beginning at the northern terminus in Front Royal, Virginia. Facilities, trails and park features use the mile markers as points of reference. At mile 96.8, park in the small area on the east side of the Drive. Look for a lower dirt road which leads to the Appalachian Trail. Take it for .2 mile turning right on the Appalachian Trail until you reach the next dirt road. Turn right and it will lead you back to the parking area.
