This trail near Cameron Pass, west of Fort Collins, leads to Blue Lake. The trail follows the Fall Creek drainage to Blue Lake. Panoramic views of the Mummy Range and Rocky Mountain National Park are available in the Blue Lake/Hang Lake area. The trail leads through portions of the Rawah Wilderness.

Horses are prohibited on the Blue Lake Trail from May 15 to September 15 annually to help reduce adverse impacts on the trail and lake area.

Overnight use is not permitted in the Blue Lake Closure Area. Overuse and abuse in the past have resulted in severe damage to the areas around the lakes and a closure has been implemented to allow the area to recover. Camping along the trial may be limited due to the high popularity of this drainage.

Directions: From Fort Collins, Travel west on Hwy 14 for 62 miles. The Trailhead is located about 2 miles east of Joe Wright Reservoir. Parking is available at the trailhead.

Ending Elevation: 10,800 feet

Elevation Gain: 1,280 feet

Usage: Heavy
