This route is a short interpretive trail leading through a grove of giant redwoods. The trail begins at a trailhead along Bald Hills Road. Cross the road on a bridge and begin the trail. There are brochures available at the trailhead that describe the human history of the area as well as identifying plants along the path. You can follow the loop one mile through the Lady Bird Johnson Grove. This grove of redwoods and trail is named after first lady, Lady Bird Johnson who dedicated the park to the public in 1968.
Directions: From Orick, Travel northward on Highway 101 to Bald Hills Road. Turn right and follow Bald Hills Road nearly three miles to the parking area on the south side of the road. Walk across the bridge to reach the trail.
