This trail climbs to a scenic overlook atop High Dome Mountain, elevation 3,821 feet, and a natural grass meadow (the "dome") with views of surrounding peaks and the ocean. Ruins of a former fire lookout platform remain. The trail descends to the west fork of Patrick Creek where the lower trailhead is located. Primitive camping is available at the Three Ponds site on Gasquet Toll Road.
Directions: From Crescent City, Take Hwy. 101 to the junction with Hwy. 199. Go east on 199 to Patrick Creek Rd. which is the next left after Patrick Creek Lodge. Turn left and continue 3.1 miles to a signed junction. Stay left following the sign to the Gasquet Toll Road. Travel .5 mile and cross a bridge, immediately turning right onto Holiday Road (#315). The trailhead is on the right parking on the left.
