Snow Camp Trail ranges in elevation from 2,500 to 4,000 ft and offers access to Windy Valley (a pristine mountain meadow with a crystal clear stream), Snow Camp Meadow and a forested area near Fairview Meadow to the north. Magnificent views and vegetative variety add to the attractions along this route. Portions of the trail are very steep and the trail bed is fairly rugged. Water and campsites are adequate. Facilities include parking, picnic tables, fire rings, trash collection and toilet.
Special Rental Opportunity: Snow Camp Lookout is available for rent during the snow free season (June - September). Cost is $30.00 per night. This money is used for maintenance and renovation of the lookout. Reservations are accepted beginning January 1st of each new year. Due to the high demand for Snow Camp Lookout, no refunds are allowed. However, we ask that you advise us if you cannot keep your reservation. Call the Chetco R.D. for reservations Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 p.m. at (541) 469-2196 after January 1st.
Directions: From Brookings, Travel north on County Road 784 (North Bank) to Forest Service Road 1376. Follow 1376 northeast for approximately 15 miles to the trailhead.
