The trail ascends the crest of the ridge, mostly in second growth lodgepole forest breaking into scattered Larch and Douglas Fir trees near Topaz Mountain.

General Information: At Chewuch trailhead take the Cathedral Driveway trail #510-1 for 2 miles and Chewuch Trail #510 for 2 miles past Pocket Lake to Basin Creek trail #360. The Basin Creek trail #360 travels northeasterly up to Topza Mountain. Trail ascends Basin Creek through second growth forest and brushy area; upper portion of the trial is above timberline.

Directions: From Tonasket, Take Okanogan County road #9425 (HWY. 7) north for 6 miles to Okanogan County road #9425. Take Okanogan County road #9425 for 11 miles to Loomis. From Loomis continue on Okanogan County road #9425 for 2 miles to Okanogan County road #4066, this Okanogan County road #4066 connects with the forest service #39 for 20 miles to Long Swamp campground, take forest service road #39-300 for 3 miles to Chewuch trailhead. Travel on the Chewuch Trail #510 to the junction with Basin Creek Trail #360.
