The Boy Scout Trail leads 16 miles in a north/south direction between Indian Cove backcountry registry to Keys West backcountry registry. The path leads through the northwestern portion of the Wonderland of Rocks. Beginning in Indian Cove the trail ascends through a canyon leading westward. After approximately six miles the trail leaves the drainage and turns sharply southward. Within the next five miles the trail reaches a high point of 4,160 feet. It then descends slowly for several miles to Keys West.
Directions: From Twentynine Palms, To reach the Keys West Trailhead follow Twentynine Palms Highway westward to Quail Springs Road. Turn left and follow this past the entrance station to Quail Springs picnic area. The trailhead is directly across the road from the picnic area.

Ending Elevation: 4,037 feet
