The Pine City Trail begins by leading northward from the Pine City backcountry registry. This route follows an dirt road that was once used to access the mines of Pine City. The trail leads northward one and a half miles to the abandoned mining town. The remains of the small community are very limited. Several closed shafts are visible from the trail, as are the plentiful flora of the area. Unusual rock formations are also abundant along this route.
Directions: From Oasis Visitor Center, Follow Utah Trail southward to a fork in the road. Bear right toward Jumbo Rocks Campground. Pass the campground and continue driving two miles to Geology Tour Road. Instead of turning left on to Geology Tour Road, turn right and drive 1.4 miles to the Pine City backcountry registry. The Desert Queen Mine Trail leads eastward from the trailhead.
