Hatchet Lake Trail affords a 2 - 3 hour moderate hike out of Windigo.

The Hatchet Lake Trail runs perpendicular to the popular Greenstone Ridge Trail and the rugged Minong Ridge Trail. Hatchet Lake Trail offers a campground that is oftentimes used by backpackers coming down from The Greenstone.

By leaving Windigo and heading east along Minong Ridge Trail, Hatchet Lake Trail offers an escape back to the less rugged Greenstone Ridge Trail. At the junction of Hatchet Lake Trail and Minong Ridge Trail, overnight choices include a moderate 1.4 mile hike east to Todd Harbor or a difficult 5.3 miles west to Little Todd Harbor.

Directions: From Greenstone Ridge Trail, Hatchet Lake Trail connects the Greenstone Ridge and the Minong Ridge trails. The trail is runs perpendicular between Little Todd Harbor and Todd Harbor, south of Minong Ridge Trail
