• Another lodging group with hotels just outside the park, this is associated with McKinley Chalet Resort (home of Alaska Cabin Nite Dinner Theater) and McKinley Village Lodge, as well as Grande Denali Lodge and Denali Bluffs Hotel. It has an extensive list of activities to choose from.
• Best bet for hikes: A guided walk along Rock Creek Trail inside the national park. For those who'd rather bike, this company also rents sports bikes for self-guided excursions along Park Road.
• Which Nenana River trip to choose? Canyon Run is rafting for ages 11 and older (16 and up if you choose the paddle option), with 10 rapids over 11 miles. Wilderness Run is 13 scenic miles with mostly class I and II rapids, making it perfect for families (also for ages 11 and older).
