Dante's Ridge Trail begins at Dante's View Overlook and follows the ridge northward. This route provides an excellent vantage point to view Death Valley and the Panamint Mountains to the west. It is possible to follow the ridge to Mount Perry, which is four miles north. The maintained trail ends at the first summit .5 miles north of the parking area. This is a good place to escape the heat of the valley below, but a jacket is necessary in winter.
Directions: From Furnace Creek, Follow Highway 190 southward. Two miles before the eastern park boundary a spur road leads southward to Dante's View. It is 25 miles from Furnace Creek to Dante's View.
