This is an easy walk to 120-foot high sand dunes. Walking on the dunes is not recommended during the hot summer months.

The Sand Dunes "Trail" leads visitors across the high desert dunes that lie east of Stovepipe Wells. The dunes reach 120 feet and provide excellent views of the area, as well as a variety of animal tracks. It is best to hike in this area during the morning hours or late afternoon for dramatic light. It is a favorite hike for night expeditions during a full moon.
