This trail leads through the Fremont River Valley and some of its orchards to a high perspective with panoramic views of surrounding terrain.

This route leads through the orchards of Fruita Campground then climbs a slope next to the Fremont River. It is an easy walk at first through some lovely orchards and a lush valley. The track begins to ascend steadily approximately one quarter mile from the trailhead. In another half mile it turns sharply southward and begins climbing steeply. The track ends at a high point that provides views of the Fremont River Gorge and Capitol Reef. The last portion of the trail is considered strenuous by the Park Service.
