Old Wagon Trail follows an abandoned wagon route that ascends Miners Mountain from the Scenic Drive. The trail climbs steadily westward reaching a high point of 6,880 feet. From the trail's western terminus, panoramic views of the Waterpocket Fold are visible.
Begin this hike three miles south of Grand Wash on the Scenic Drive. From the trailhead the route follows the wagon road for slightly more than one mile. It first crosses a small wash then begins to ascend the eastern base of Miners Mountain. After climbing 480 feet hikers will reach a fork in the trail. This is the beginning of the Old Wagon Trail loop. Follow either side of this fork to find expansive views to the east of Waterpocket Fold.
