From the trailhead, turn up this four-mile-roundtrip trail to a viewpoint at the base of Golden Throne, a monolith of Navajo Sandstone capped by a thin layer of red Carmel Formation. A panorama takes in Capitol Reef and beyond. The steady climb ascends 1,100 feet and takes about four hours total.
