This four-mile round-trip trail begins at the Basin Campground and descends 800 feet for the first two miles. On the way back, the climb begins. Look out for the Chisos peaks, a canyon with oaks and wildflowers, and animals—gray fox, javelina, and even black bears could be just around the corner.
