This is an interesting 8 mile trek from the Kidney Pond Area to the Neswadnehunk Campground.

Doubletop Mountain Trail may be approached from either the north at the Neswadnehunk Area or from the south at the Kidney Pond Area. The trail is west of Park Tote Road and Neswadnehunk Stream. This is a quiet walk away from the busier centrally located network of trails. Views from Doubletop Peak, elevation 3,489 are picturesque. For a short distance, it parallels Neswadnehunk Stream. It also weaves around Deer Pond and Draper Pond offering cold water fishing opportunities. Campgrounds and picnicking opportunities are at both ends.

Directions: From Millinocket, ME, Travel approximately 15 miles north on SR 11 to reach the Togue Pond Gate. Bear left and travel about 12 miles to the Foster Field Picnic Area. Make a left which travels to the Kidney Pond Campground.

Elevation: 3,489 feet

Elevation Gain: 2,000 feet

Difficulty: Moderate
