This is a fabulous but difficult trail traveling between the west and east sides of the park.

Wassataquoik Lake Trail takes the entire day to walk the 14.3 mile trail which stretches from Nesowadnehunk Area to the Russell Pond Area. The trail follows old logging roads much of the way. An intersection with Pogy Notch will take you into the northeastern area of the park where you will find campsites, a network of trails and a group of fishing ponds. Five separate campgrounds / sites may be found along the trail. Overnight reservations are required. Fishing opportunities along the trail include Center Pond, Wassataquoik Lake, Six Ponds, Deep Pond, Russell Pond and more. Certain restrictions apply.

Directions: From Millinocket, ME, Travel approximately 15 miles north on SR 11 to reach the Togue Pond Gate. Bear left and travel about 18 miles to the Nesowadnehunk Field Picnic Area. Trail begins across the road.
