This easy route leads eastward from the main park road to Sand Dune Arch set among sandstone fins.

This route leads less than one half mile from the main park road to Sand
Dune Arch. A parking area lies near mile marker 16 and provides a turn out for hikers. The trail leads eastward from the road through deep sand to the arch, which is surrounded by sandstone fins. It takes approximately 15 - 30 minutes to complete this trail.

Directions: From Main Park Entrance, Drive northward on the park road 16.5 miles to the Sand Dune Arch parking area.

Elevation: 5,170 feet

Ending Elevation: 5,200 feet

Usage: Heavy
