This short, easy hike to a large arch begins on the main road at Skyline Arch parking area. It leads one half mile round trip to Skyline Arch. The trek takes approximately 10 to 20 minutes along a flat, well-defined trail. On a cold November night in 1940, a large chunk fell out of this arch, instantly doubling the size of its opening.
Directions: From Main Park Entrance, Drive northward on the park road 17 miles to the Skyline Arch parking area.
