The Steamboat Springs Pro-Rodeo Series offers rodeo performances every Friday and Saturday night beginning in late June and ending in late August. Guests can also enjoy barbeque, live entertainment, kids events, and the annual Cowboy Roundup Days during Fourth of July weekend.

  • Fridays and Saturdays, mid-June to mid-August the family attraction in town is the Steamboat Springs Pro-Rodeo Series, a down-and-dirty bronc-riding, steer-wrestling, calf-roping event. The rodeo starts at 7:30, and all tickets are general admission so if you have a favorite spot, get there no later than 6:30 p.m.
  • Whether you're ranchers or city sophisticates, your kids can participate in the popular kids' scramble, no advance sign-up required. Ages six to 12 try to get the ribbon off the tail of a calf turned loose in the arena, ages five and younger chase after a sheep. Winners get prizes. The announcer lets you know when kids should line up.
  • Make a night of it. Go to the pre-rodeo BBQ dinner that starts at 6 p.m. (and goes until 9:30, when the rodeo ends). To liven things up there's entertainment on the stage from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.
