Directions: From Yampa, take Hwy 131 south to Hwy 134; turn left and continue on Hwy 134 for 8.5 miles to the Lynx Pass turnoff. Turn left; continue north for about two miles. Park at the Laguanita Lake parking area. *OPTION 1: Head north from the parking area, past Lynx Pass Campground and Guard Station. Turn left to the beginning of #1174. The trail climbs for about 7 miles to the top of Green Ridge. The trail will intersect with a series of roads. Follow signs for trail #1174. In another mile and you will come to the Muddy Slide, an interesting geological formation. Once on top, this trail provides beautiful views of the Morrison Creek valley, Rabbit Ears Pass and Steamboat Ski area to the north. Continue following trail #1174 down a fairly steep stretch to Muddy Creek. You will intersect with Road #270 (Morrison Creek Road.) right and head uphill steadily for 7 miles on this improved gravel road back to the top of Lynx Pass to complete the loop.
