• This is a .6-mile loop emanating from the nature center at Groton State Forest, which is a complex of public lands in the form of state forests and parks. The trail itself is a self-guided interpretive walk. Get a brochure at the nature center before you depart. The nature center offers daily programs during the summer, including guided hikes.
• You can extend your hike by joining the Hossmer Brook Trail, which leads to other trails north of the nature center. The general area also offers swimming, paddling, and camping.
• The longer Little Loop Trail also leaves from the nature center. It makes a one-mile loop. It connects to the Peacham Bog Trail and the Coldwater Brook Trail.
