Fort William Henry was built during the French and Indian War (1754-1763) Today, a replica of the original Fort stands on Lake George, NY. Guided tours are conducted every hour on the hour featuring guides dressed in dressed in 18 century military uniform and explaining the Fort's history, importance of its location during the French & Indian War and the methods and weapons of the warfare of the 18 century. The Fort's museum contains many artifacts discovered during archeological digs at the site and search of the lake near the fort.
