Starting Point: Downtown Pinedale

Ending Point: Green River Lakes

Road Conditions: The last 23 miles are rough dirt road. Slow speeds are necessary.

LEVEL OF USE: High during the summer season

FACILITIES: Outhouses, picnic tables and grills are available at Green River Lakes Campground. You will also find similar facilities at Whiskey Grove Campground. You will pass this area en route to Green River Lakes. A refuse container is available near Kendall Guard Station.

SPECIAL Attractions: This is a scenic drive with several historic sites along the way. There are several homesteader's ranches and old tie camps (historic logging camps) situated along the Green River Valley. You will pass through the small town of Cora and near New Fork Lakes Campground, Narrows Campground, and Whiskey Grove Campground. Green River Lakes Campground is located nest to lower Green River Lake.

Just after the Kendall Guard Station, on the left, is a dirt road which eventually leads to Dubois, Wyoming. This is a rough road and is not recommended during inclement weather.

NATURAL SETTING: As you start going west from Pinedale, you will have a full view of the Wind River Range. Across the highway from the Cora Junction is an access road to Trapper's Point. The view of the range from this site is spectacular. After passing Cora, the drive parallels the Green River and passes by Dollar Lake. The drive ends at Green River Lakes which extend under the majestic view of Square Top Mountain. It's just a short hike to the beaches alongside Lower Green River Lake.

Situated beside the lower Green River Lake is CP Bar Guest Ranch. Some maps still list this as a guest ranch although it is currently a Forest Service administrative site.

Directions: From Pinedale, Travel west on Hwy. 191 to Hwy. 352, the Cora Road. Go north on this road.
