Sunrise Trail begins about 100 yards east of the park road and the junction of the campground road. The blue-blazed trail is fairly wide traveling through a forest of conifers then rising into an oak forest. This is an interpretive trail with specie markers attached to trees. The trail winds east then south toward the Connecticut River making a steady climb to a nice overlook which offers a resting bench. Just south of the overlook, you will see the Connector Trail intersect from the right. This is a short cut trail that cuts off the broader southern loop of Sunrise Trail. This pleasant hike is especially nice for park campers and even day visitors because of its convenient location immediately off Interstate 91 just south of Brattleboro.
