At the French-owned Hotel Les Tipaniers on the northwest coast of Moorea, this is a traditional and low-key beachside restaurant nestled under soaring coconut trees on a white sand beach. Although it can be touristy, it nearly feels like the real Polynesian thing, situated under an arched, thatched roof and opening onto a lagoon where outrigger canoes float by. It’s a great place for an outdoor seaside lunch perched right above the narrow strip of white sand, or for the prerequisite sunset cocktail. The menu presents a selection of salads, fruit, burgers, pastas, and it’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
