Covering more than 1,000 feet along the Charleston Harbor, right alongside the downtown historic district, the Charleston Waterfront Park is a popular destination for visitors. Watch sailboats in the harbor and see freighters coming in and out from a park bench, or walk out on the pier and take a seat on one of the generously-sized porch swings. You may spot dolphins frolicking in the water.

Kids (and grownups) are allowed to splash and play in the fountains, which light up at night, creating a stunning walk along the waterfront. Shady and grassy areas with picnic tables make a perfect place to enjoy lunch. Breezes coming off the harbor make the park a great place to cool off.
