  • The good news for little legs is that the zoo's flat layout means that it isn't too tiring to walk around. This is also great news for parents who might otherwise have to carry small children.
  • Don't miss Simmo, the zoo's largest estuarine crocodile, which weighs in at a whopping 1,100 pounds and is 16.5 feet long.
  • Older children might like to participate in the zoo's "Close Encounters" program by going behind the scenes or shadowing a zookeeper.
Children who like critters of all shapes and sizes will love Perth Zoo. The animals have reasonably big, glass-fronted enclosures. This means that they have a decent amount of space and that younger visitors don't struggle to spot them. Here,
