Near the gay-popular Independence park, a nightly cruising spot which is now undergoing a large reconstruction plan, is the Hilton Beach, a major gay spot in the city, active for ten sunny months a year. The Hilton is a must: Hunky guys in tight Speedos fill the beach on the weekends, sunbathing, chatting with each other, and taking a good look around. It's very popular among the locals and tourists, and the breakwater keeps the waves so entering to the water is recommended (you'll spot hot Israeli surfers just beyond). The beach kiosk was recently renovated to incorporate a large deck with a comfortable sitting area. Not to be missed!
